Northwest Gifted Child Association and Lake Washington Gifted Education Advisory Council are sponsoring The CONNECTIONS conference on Saturday, January 29th from 8:00 to 12:30 p.m. at Redmond High School.
CONNECTIONS is a symposium for parents of gifted children, providing information and sharing opportunities on the unique issues they face. Listen to and talk with experts on gifted children and meet other local parents who may be dealing with the same issues or have stories of what has worked for their families. See the graphic below for details on presenters and location.
People who register at www.nwgca.org using PayPal before January 25th can get the discounted registration fee. Registration fees include a one-year membership in Northwest Gifted Child Association for those who do not have a current membership.

The Northwest Gifted Child Association and SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted) are hosting a free presentation: Eleven Key Parenting Issues with Dr. James Webb in the Lake Washington School District this summer. Dr. Webb, author of A Parent’s Guide to Gifted Children and other books, will be in town preparing for next year’s SENG Annual Symposium in Seattle in July 2011.

Please join us for this school year’s final Parent Coffee Chat on Sunday, June 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Urban City Coffee, located at the corner of 44th Avenue West and 212th Street in Mountlake Terrace. This is a casual gathering and opportunity to discuss issues unique to parenting gifted children. Come share your questions, ideas, feedback, and a beverage with other parents. Members of the CPA board will also be in attendance. We look forward to seeing you there.

SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted) presents a webinar with Dr. Steven Curtis this Thursday, April 15th at 7:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. To participate in this webinar, please visit the SENG website and follow the links for webinar participation. There is a $40 fee per computer connection to the webinar.
Please plan to join members of the CPA board and your fellow parents at our third monthly Coffee Chat on Sunday, April 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Caffe Ladro in the Five Corners neighborhood of Edmonds at 8403 Main Street, next to the Mieko’s Fitness. This is an informal opportunity to discuss any challenges and issues of concern for parents of gifted students. Parents of gifted students who do not attend Terrace Park are welcome as well. Come share your questions, concerns, ideas, and observations.

Get them to turn off the computer/TV/electronic game and come to dinner? Stop fighting in the car? Would you like to teach your kids more responsible behavior?
Then, please consider attending Becoming a Love and Logic Parent classes beginning on Tuesday, April 6th from 6:30-8:30 PM in the Cedar Valley Community School Library. Free childcare will be provided. Classes will continue on Tuesdays – April 13th, 20th, 27th, May 4th, 11th and 18th). This class is offered in English.
