Please plan now to attend Gifted Education Day in Olympia
We are all in this together! CPA encourages everyone to attend!
DATE: Friday, February 5th, 2010
TIME: 8:00 AM 7:30 a.m. (meet at 7:15)~leave Terrace Park School by carpool and/or caravan~
Estimate 3:00 PM ~leave Olympia~ (optional, meet for pizza dinner)
PLACE: State Capitol Building in Olympia, WA.
WHO: Parent(s) and Child(ren) in the Challenge Program
Last year we had about 70 parents and students attend this special event. We toured the capitol, met with our district legislators, and some students read their letters “Why we need gifted education” to their legislators. The students who attended the past two years still talk about their experiences at the capitol learning to take part in their government’s process and to become advocates for themselves.
It was truly an important, fun and impactful day! This year will be even bigger.
We hope to have 90- 100 parents and students attend together from Edmonds School District. It’s a critical year for educational funding. Our presence is critical and will speak volumes.
So, plan ahead and take the day off from work. Join the caravan down to Olympia with other Terrace Park families. Wear the purple TP Challenge program T-shirt to identify yourself with our group. Maybe meet up with others for pizza after. Please let us know by Jan. 27th if you plan to attend, if you’d like to order a T shirt for $5.50, what your carpool needs are, and if you’d like to meet others for pizza before heading back north so we can plan appropriately.
Do it for your child! Do it for gifted education!
Please let you child’s teacher know by Wednesday, January 27th by filling out the attached form with your check made out to CPA if you plan on ordering a T-shirt.
Thanks for your support!
