“We’ve trimmed all the fat, now we’re down to the meat.”
District is looking at revenue generating proposals: advertising; tuition based programs
Call or write your legislators: this is extremely important!
3. NEW DISTRICT AND SCHOOL WEBSITES
Funded by 2008 Technology Levy
Website is easier to navigate
Websites now have a dynamic calendar
School websites are now uniform and standard
You can subscribe to the website and receive e-alerts whenever it is updated
4. BOUNDARIES: ALDERWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL
Alderwood Middle is 100 students over capacity
Short term plan:
encourage families in feeder schools to consider transfer to a different middle school (Brier Terrace; College Place; Meadowdale)
principles from other middle schools will hold meetings at feeder elementary schools letting them know about their schools
transfer is voluntary so no transportation will be provided
attending a different middle school does not give students priority for transfer to that corresponding high school
