CPA exists to provide support for gifted children in various ways. One goal is to help our parents find ways to connect with each other to share ideas, experiences, resources, questions, frustrations, and suggestions about what works with gifted kids in the family. As a step toward that goal, we are planning monthly coffee chats for any parent interested in an informal discussion with other parents about anything related to parenting gifted kids. Whether you are new to the label of “gifted and talented child” with many a concern, or a seasoned pro who has been through it all and can offer the solace and comfort of experience, we would love to benefit from your presence! There is support in shared experience and we are all in this together. Please join us!
We are planning our first gathering for Saturday, January 16th at 10:00 AM. The location will be determined by the estimated attendance numbers. Please contact us at cpaboard@yahoo.com by January 4th to let us know if you plan to attend. Once we have a good estimate of how many parents to expect, we’ll announce the location for this coffee chat. Wherever it is, we’ll make sure there are beverages and snacks nearby, and at least one member of the CPA board will be in attendance at each gathering. Feel free to include in your email suggestions regarding the times, frequency, and locations of these gatherings.
