Urgent! Letters to Legislators Needed ASAP!

Your action is needed immediately. The governor made her initial budget proposal which listed the complete elimination of our state’s gifted education funding. Now is the time for us to band together and send letters to our legislators which stress our goals of:

1.) Preserving highly capable programs during the transition to
implementation of 2261, and
2.) Maintaining funding for these programs during the transition
provision for future growth of programs.

These letters should be very simple: We value our gifted
program; we want to be sure it is maintained through the transition
period through adequate state funding so that it can grow when it
becomes part of basic education.

To find your personal legislators’ contact information, go to the state’s website http://apps.leg.wa.gov/districtfinder/Default.aspx. Just input your address and it will highlight your district. By clicking on the district on the map you get a pop-up list of links for each of the legislators for that district.

Please spend just a few minutes today to let your legislators know how important this decision is to you and your children! If we each send a note, we all send a powerful message.
