Gifted Education Day – February 2, 2017

Join us in Olympia!

Help remind lawmakers that funding Gifted Education is vital and is part of the state’s paramount duty to educate Washington children.

Gifted Education Day is an annual event scheduled by the
Washington Coalition for Gifted Education (WCGE).

Together, we learn about current education legislation, tour the Capitol, and meet personally with legislators to voice support for programs for gifted and highly capable students.  Challenge Parents Association connects its members with their district legislators and provides background information and specific talking points with the help of the Coalition.

We’ll take time out for a brown-bag lunch and (weather permitting) hike down the Heritage Park Hillside Trail to Capitol Lake before hitting the road to come home.

DATE: Thursday, February 2, 2017
TIME: meet in Olympia at 9:30 am, Estimated Return by 3:30 pm

Your personal story on the impact of funding inequities is a powerful way to highlight the need for gifted education. Address your letter(s) personally.  Our legislators tell us every year that hearing from us on this issue is important!

Please send in letters by January 27th to allow time to print and include in presentation on Feb 2nd. Please email your letter to Leah Bernstein, and please feel free to contact us with any questions!
