Anxiety in Children
Many children experience high levels of anxiety in their daily lives. Traits that are common among gifted children, such as perfectionism, intensity, creativity, and social or emotional asymmetries, can combine with natural anxiety to restrict a child’s development. This talk will focus on identifying anxiety, its effect on daily living and academic performance, and common approaches for teaching children self-regulation. Dr. Bain will share her thoughts about discussing anxiety with children, and share some coping mechanisms that have helped other children.  More details available here:  CPA Spring Speaker 2015
