“I’m not old enough for college,
but I’m READY to learn!”
Preparing children with the
social-emotional skills for success.
Want to make sure your kid will do well when they head to the university? Whether your child is in preschool or in high school, find out how to help your child develop the social and emotional skills that will equip them for success in the college world.
This SENGinar will examine the development of social and emotional behaviors that, in an academic setting, will help equip a student with the necessary social skills to thrive in a college environment. Though our gifted children often possess great intellect and may have never experienced academic hardship, it can be difficult to transition to a new environment where social skills can be the key to higher achievement.
College readiness is a theme that is structured throughout a child’s educational experience. While we generally think of this as related to cognitive attributes, there are distinct academic behavioral attributes that as parents and educators, we must help children develop and refine in order to be a successful college student.
