Summer Family Park Dates in July and August

When your schedule permits, take a break in the middle of the week…in the middle of the day… in the middle of a park! Challenge program families (former, current, and future) are all welcome to bring a picnic lunch, outdoor games and toys, and optimistic amounts of sunscreen for some relaxing fun in the (hopefully) sun every Wednesday afternoon at various parks around the Edmonds School District during the months of July and August. Whenever possible, members of the CPA board will try to attend. These are just informal opportunities for families to get together. If you’ve got a Terrace Park or Gifted Education Day t-shirt, please try to wear it to allow for easy recognition by new families. We will target gathering between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the following parks:

  • July 7: Hickman Park, 23700 – 104th Ave. West, Edmonds: Brand new park with state-of-the-art play structures, basketball, soccer, picnic areas.
  • July 14: Edmonds Marina Beach Park, South end of Admiral Way, Edmonds: Beach park on Puget Sound with playground and picnic areas. Very low tide around noon this day, so come ready to explore some tide pools.
  • July 21: Spruce Park, 16864 36th Avenue West, Lynnwood: Neighborhood park with play structures, basketball courts, large lawn areas, and a small forest loop trail.
  • July 28: Daleway Park, 19015 64th Avenue West, Lynnwood: Water spray, play structures, basketball courts, picnic areas, and large forested trail section. Come prepared to get wet, and snack on some huckleberries.
  • August 4: Logan Park, 1411 Logan Road, Lynnwood: Playground, baseball field, jogging path, and picnic areas.
  • August 11: North Lynnwood Neighborhood Park, 18510 44th Avenue West, Lynnwood: Water spray, play structures, basketball courts, picnic areas, and paved trail perfect for small bikes, trikes, and scooters. Also the site of the CPA BBQ on August 29th.
  • August 18: Edmonds City Park, 3rd Avenue South and Howell Way, Edmonds: Wading pool, picnic areas, play structures, baseball field, and trails.
  • August 25: Lynndale Park, 18927 72nd Avenue West, Lynnwood: Upper park has play structures, picnic areas, baseball field, amphitheater, tennis courts. Lower park (accessible from Olympic View Drive) has a skateboard park.  22 acres of wooded trails.
